Generally, children do not have a good understanding of mountain, snow, skiing, wrapping themselves up, walking with rigid boots. Furthermore, they are afraid of things they don't know.
So tell them in a plain way what they are going to do. Explain them that they will learn skiing while they are playing and having fun.
